Food Preservation 101: Introductory Class for Home Food Preservation

What You’ll Do…
 Be introduced to safe home food preservation methods, including freezing,
dehydrating, pressure canning, and hot-water-bath canning
 Learn how to avoid the risk of botulism in home canning
 Browse through the ISU Extension library of printed food preservation instructions
 Examine various food preservation supplies and equipment on display
 Learn more about the online “Preserve the Taste of Summer” course
 Find out which method of home food preservation is practical for you!

Preserving foods at home is not difficult, but it does require following research-based recipes. Even if you have been a home food preserver for years, come and learn the latest recommendations.
