Games & Play Meetup

Let’s hang out for games and play! Join us at Tower Park (4900 Hickman Rd, Des Moines) to have fun, relax, and meet new people. This is a casual hangout – open to all, herbivore or omnivore! The park has a playground, spray ground, tennis courts, and basketball hoops that we hope you’ll try out. In addition, we’ll have games, bubbles, hula hoops, and more.
We need your help to bring the fun! We are looking for:
→ Three people to bring a lawn game
→ Five people to bring their favorite card/board game(s)
→ Two people to bring bubbles
→ Two people to bring hula hoops (adult or kid sized)
→ Four people to bring tennis rackets and balls that you don’t mind sharing with others
→ Two basketballs
→ Two rubber balls for foursquare or dodge ball
→ Three people to bring coloring books/supplies
→ Five people to bring their favorite card/board game(s)
→ Two people to bring bubbles
→ Two people to bring hula hoops (adult or kid sized)
→ Four people to bring tennis rackets and balls that you don’t mind sharing with others

We will have some light snacks (vegan of course) to munch on. If you’d like, you can order from Veggie Thumper who will be at their normal Franklin Jr High spot from 5-7pm. The bus is about a five minute walk from the festivities at the park. We may coordinate ordering – TBD! In addition, you’re welcome to bring vegan food to eat (for yourself or family) or to share.
Parking: There is a big lot on the north side of Franklin Jr High (4801 Franklin Ave, enter from 48th ST). If you park in the NW corner of the lot there is a sidewalk entrance into the park.
