Independent Earth Day Trail Clean-up

Join us ~ remotely ~ this Earth Day as we hit the trails for a socially-distanced cleanup. Instead of gathering collectively, we encourage you individually to put the Earth first on April 22nd by grabbing some gloves, a trash bag and protective gear to give some TLC to a public spot in need.
Tune in to our Facebook page throughout the day to see live streams from the Urban Ambassadors team as we tackle our own trail clean-ups. Participate virtually in the event by sharing photos or videos of your trail clean-up or of all of the items you were able to pick up!
We have a sustainable prize to send to the winner of “most trash picked up” and “weirdest item found.” To participate, comment, share, or tag a photo(s) of your outing in this event page!
As a reminder, we are in the middle of a global health pandemic. Please, please be mindful of social distancing guidelines as you pick a trail to clean. If one area looks to be in heavy use, please find an alternative spot. All of Des Moines trails, sidewalks, streets, and waterways can use a clean-up, we are confident you can find a spot away from others!
